About Us


Team Ascent has come from very humble beginnings just four years ago. It all started when Managing Director, Norman Buntrock had a desire to hold a fun run for the community in the beautiful Pt Cartwright area; just twenty runners turned up for the first Cartwright Challenge.


The goals of Team Ascent are to provide a variety of running events that are:

  • Family friendly
  • Frequent
  • Fun
  • Affordable

In keeping with this, a five year plan was developed to expand the number and variety of events offered by Team Ascent to the community. It is our aim to introduce a new event every year for the next four years, 2007 saw the introduction of the first new event - the Mooloolaba Mile. This is such an exciting concept with the potential to grow into a very high profile event in years to come.
